Project Title :

  • Empowering rural poor women through Establishing Tools Centers & Grain Banks.

Project Objective :

  • To Pilot activities to be able to replicate as sustainable livelihood activities for tribal communities by enabling poor women to prioritize their concerns & develop decentralized and transparent mechanisms of functioning that are pro-poor and pro-women.

Project Area :
  • Devgadh Baria taluka of Dahod District, Ghoghamba and Shahera talukas of Panchmahal District.

Total Project Cost :
  • Rs. 44,13,400; JFPR Grant – Rs 26,67,200

Project Duration :
  • Two Year.

Targeted Beneficiaries
(No of BPL families, other households, tribals etc)
  • 2000 Poor Tribal Households (10000 Beneficiaries) in 20 villages.

Project Outputs And Monitorable Indicators :

  • Food Grain availability to the targeted households across the lean months.
  • Access & Control o food grains with in the Community.
  • Reduction in migration.
  • Reduction in dependence of moneylenders.
  • Greater use of quality equipments by the small and marginal farmers.
  • Timely availability of equipments.
  • Increasing land productivity.

Key Implementation Activities :
  • Establishment of Grain Banks.
  • Establishment of Tools Centres.

Implementation Arrangements And Partnerships :
  • All the above activities would be carried out by ANANDI in tandem with people’s organisation i.e. Devgadh Mahila Sangathan and Panam Mahila Sangathan. Each village would have committee represented by Mahila mandals of that village with some men of the community. The tools and equipments would be leased as per the rates finalised by the community and these would largely be used for operations like ploughing, cultivation and threshing. The required staff to manage the center would be recruited from the revenue generated from the leasing.
