Design Intervention for skill Upgradation and Product Diversification in Handicrafts and Handloom Clusters of Gujarat

Objectives of the Project

The major objectives of the Project are:
  • Skill enhancement by introducing new techniques and elements to the traditional crafts;
  • Developing a new range of products that target domestic and export markets;
  • Upgrading the quality of products through necessary design inputs in finishing, proportion and product detailing;
  • Introducing value addition to the products by making it an integral part of the design development process;
  • Providing inputs in promotional techniques in the form of pricing and packaging;
  • Setting up marketing linkages; and
  • Establishing five common facility centres and 12 common work sheds.
