Project Title :

  • Enhancing livelihoods of the poorest tribal farmers in the Bharauch and Narmada District through the use of agriculture equipment’s under leasing arrangement.

Project Objective :

  • The objective of the project is pilot new approaches for sustaining income generation of the poor under leasing arrangements.

  • Bharauch and Narmada District

Total Project Cost :
  • Rs.  41,66,000, JFPR Grant – Rs 35,66,400

Project Duration :
  • Three Year.

Targeted Beneficiaries
(No of BPL families, other households, tribals etc)
  • 23 Villages..

Project Outputs And Monitorable Indicators :

  • Greater use of quality equipments by the small and marginal farmers.
  • Timely availability.
  • Increasing productivity.
  • Increasing incomes.
  • Federations would have recovered most of the cost of the equipments through leasing.
  • Federation would grain a lot of experience and the confidence for taking up more such activities.
  • Increasing productivity.

    Monitoring Indicators

  • Increase of % of farmers using improved implements like plough/ thresher etc.

  • % Increase in the productivities (at the end of a 3 year period).

  • Rs 24,03,900 would be generated out of the usage of the tools & equipment library.

Key Implementation Activities :

  • Putting in place the institutional arrangement or the project.
  • Awareness generation among the farmers about the project.
  • Procurement of the equipment.
  • Leasing of the equipment for the use of farmers.
  • Capacity building of the farmers.
  • Repair and maintenance of the equipment's.

Implementation Arrangements And Partnerships :

  • All the above activities would be carried out by AKRSP in tandem with village institutions. In almost every village under AKRSP program, there is a village institution consisting of the farmers of that village. The tools and equipments would be leased as per the rates finalised by the community and these would largely be used for operations like ploughing, cultivation and threshing. The required staff to manage the center would be recruited from the revenue generated from the leasing.
