Leather Sector Development in Gujarat

Objectives of the Project

Some of the major objectives of the Project are :

To conduct a diagnostic study with the help of all the DRDAS in the state to determine the potentially viable leather cooperatives;
To improve the overall socio-economic conditions through skill upgradation of the leather workers;
To provide entrepreneurial training to the trained beneficiaries to set up their own enterprises;
To upgrade the leather cooperative societies by providing infrastructure and machinery for better processing of the finished goods; and
To provide marketing support.
