Project Title :

  • Piloting innovative and sustainable income generation approaches for tribal women, marginal farmers of Vadodara district through skill upgradation, self-help and micro enterprise.

Project Objective :

  • To provide innovative and alternate livelihood means for economic betterment of tribal women, small and marginal farmers, and migrant tribals.
  • To promote community based programmes that are in keeping with the tribal lifestyle.
  • To check outward migration of tribal families and provide opportunities for education and healthcare.
  • To establish backward and forward linkages.
  • To do value additive activities for an enhanced price procurement of specialized agricultural products.
  • To pilot new approaches for sustainable income generation activities among tribal communities.

Project Area :
  • Tribal villages of Chhotaudepur, Pavi Jetpur and Kawant talukas of Vadodara district.

Total Project Cost :
  • Rs. 40,02,600, JFPR Grant – Rs 27,37,200

Project Duration :
  • Two Year.

Targeted Beneficiaries
(No of BPL families, other households, tribals etc)
  • 750 individuals.

Project Outputs And Monitorable Indicators :

  • Increase in income.
  • Formation of micro enterprise units.
  • Enhance crop productivity .
  • Savings on capital costs for fertilizers..

Key Implementation Activities :

  • Training 150 tribal women in organic vegetable cultivation, processing and marketing of the products.
  • Setting up of 60 Gobar banks and vermicompost plants.
