Improving Socio Economic condition
of BPL families of Poshina area of
Sabarkantha District.
Project Objective
:

To uplift the socioeconomic status
of the poorest of poor BPL families
of selected tribal villages and to
bring them above poverty line by
providing round the year assured
income through dairying animal
husbandry activity.

To establish well organized
dairy cooperative society as milk
marketing center at village level.

To create avenues for
self-employment.
-
Training and skill upgradation
programme of women and unemployed
youth in animal husbandry practices.

To provide necessary resources to
beneficiaries and to facilitate
financial assistance in induction of
animal, to facilitate veterinary
health care, feeding and breeding
programme.

Project Outputs And
Monitorable Indicators :

Regular and assured monthly income
to the BPL beneficiaries which will
bring them out of the BPL coverage
as a result the dream of the
project, Upliftment of the BPL
families will be succeed.

Skill up-gradation of the target BPL
families and creation of small
self-employed entrepreneur.

BPL members would generate total
revenue of Rs 23270000 in first
year, Rs 44915000 in second year and
Rs 44915000 in the third year.

Revenue generated per person per day
would be minimum Rs 76 per day.
Key Implementation Activities
:

Induction of 2600 animals to improve
the economic condition.
-
Artificial inseminator facilities by
starting Artificial Insemination
center at village level and supply
of chaff cutter.

Organization of 8 DCS at 8 villages
and facilitation of animal
vaccination, health care and
deworming services shall be provided
as support services to the animals.

Provide BCU facility so that milk
could be stored for longer period
before sent to the dairy plant to
maintain the quality of milk.

Establishment of fodder bank to
provide the facility of purchasing
the required amount of fodder.
-
Training of the women, youth,
resource persons DCS staff,
management committee members and AI
workers form local area.
Implementation Arrangements
And Partnerships
:

The Sabar Dairy, under technical
guidance from NDDB, Anand, will
implement the Project. On behalf of
State Govt., DRDA Sabarkantha would
take care of releasing the allocated
and approved fund under the project;
this office also will take care for
the monitoring of work progress. The
district level monitoring committee,
comprising the representative of
main three partners of the project
i.e. ADB – JFPR project, Govt. &
Sabar dairy which would provide
periodically progress report to
Rural Dev. Dept.
